Couples Therapy

Your relationship might look fine on the outside…
But inside, you feel disconnected. Maybe the spark is gone, or every conversation turns into an argument or worse, silence. Maybe parenting has swallowed your partnership, or you’re quietly wondering: Is this sustainable?

If one or both of you is neurodivergent, it can feel like you’re speaking different emotional languages altogether.

You’re not alone. These patterns don’t mean you’re broken. They mean you need a new way forward.

If this sounds familiar, let’s talk. Schedule a free consultation to see if couples therapy might be the support you’ve been looking for.

My Approach to Couples Work

You’ll get more than just a listening ear—you’ll get a clear, structured path forward. I draw from:

  • The Gottman Method

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • The Developmental Model of Couples Therapy

  • Relational Life Therapy (RLT) principles

  • A neurodiversity-affirming lens that honors different communication and regulation styles

This means sessions are focused, experiential, and actionable. You’ll gain insight and learn tools to repair conflict, improve intimacy, and co-create the relationship you both deserve.

Specializing in Couples Who Are:

  • Navigating neurodivergent (ADHD or mixed-neurotype) dynamics

  • Feeling disconnected, lonely, or stuck in negative patterns

  • Working through long-standing tension, resentment, or gridlock

  • Trying to rekindle intimacy or reconnect after becoming parents

  • Struggling to equitably share responsibilities—whether at home, with parenting, or around finances

  • Wanting to deepen communication, rebuild respect, or feel like a team again

Why We Start with a Relationship Assessment

Before we dive into ongoing couples therapy, I require a research-based relationship assessment. This takes place between the first and second sessions and allows us to start with clarity, not guesswork. By identifying your unique strengths and stress points from the beginning, we can create a personalized treatment roadmap that’s grounded in evidence—not assumptions.

Depending on your stage of relationship, I’ll guide you toward the right tool:

  • Prepare/Enrich – ideal for newer couples, blended families, or partners navigating major life transitions (like moving in, having kids, or step-parenting).

  • Gottman Relationship Checkup – best for long-term partners or couples experiencing frequent conflict, emotional gridlock, or distance.

These assessments give us a shared foundation so we can move forward with focus, insight, and a plan that fits your relationship.

My Clinical Approach

Couples work is its own unique modality, requiring a different skill set than individual therapy. I take that distinction seriously and am committed to continually deepening my work through advanced training, consultation, and ongoing study. My approach is shaped by the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), certification as a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, and a foundation in trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming practice.
